All you need to do is write an honest journal onto a piece of paper and take a picture of it. That's it. Submit it and you'll be entered to win one of five $100 scholarships.
Give me 150 words of a reasonable effort at creating a dialogue with yourself. Winners are chosen completely randomly, so please don't feel the need to put in a whole lot of effort into this journal. Your chances won't increase if your entry is longer or if the content is more or less intriguing. Let things flow organically.
I'm not going to read the non-selected entries. It's your journal. The only entries I'll read are those that are randomly selected and I'm only going to read them to ensure they are fair entries.
Selected entries that aren't 150+ words or aren't fair attempts at journaling will be disqualified.
Start: 11/23/2024
Deadline: 12/23/2024
Whatever has been on your mind recently.
Talk about your day. Talk about how great it was spending time with your friends and family. Talk about a funny thing that happened to you. Talk about how things haven't been going well recently. Talk about anything you want.
This journal is a canvas for your thoughts and feelings.
I'm not here to collect a bunch of information on your private life. The reason I made this scholarship is to form some kind of internal dialogue or conversation. You're probably some stressed out student who's got to worry about about a bunch of finals and projects to finish up. Oh and you've somehow got to plan out the rest of your life. I just want you to take a moment and check in with yourself, just in case you haven't.
If for any reason you do want me to read your entry, I've left a field for you to mark that you want me to read your entry. Selecting this field doesn't affect your chances at winning. I won't respond, I'll just listen and read.
I'm basically paying $500 to have a bunch of you talk to yourself and I'm totally okay with that. Truthfully I'll never know how much a small conversation with yourself can positively affect you, but I still want it to happen.
I'm secretly hoping that at least one of you will have a positive experience. Maybe after this you'll have more unprompted conversations with yourself. That'd be nice.
